RUBY-GRACE EDWARDS'S BIOGRAPHY
Hi my name is Ruby and I'm 15. I've been competing as an athlete ever since I was 8 when I joined Stratford Athletic Club.
Throughout the years I have increased my power and strength through sprint and hurdle training and have developed a passion for long jump and triple jump. As an U11 I won the Standing Triple Jump and Standing Long Jump at the West Midlands Sportshall final and (after a break due to Covid) I have enjoyed Sportshall success with the U15s this year as well. I have competed in both indoor and outdoor events throughout the Midlands and have steadily improved my P.Bs. I have been working hard on the speed of my long jump take off and I’m determined to get my training jumps of 5m onto the Power of 10. |
My highlight last season was competing at Loughborough University and meeting Jasmin Sawyers who was very inspiring.
As an under 15 I have won gold and silver medals in long jump at both school and county level. Now I've moved into the under 17s age category I have started Triple Jump and love the complexity of the different techniques of the hop and step phases. This season I am continuing to develop my Triple Jump and working hard on holding the landing phase in Long Jump and I am hopeful to get to English Schools. I am very grateful for all the support I have received and look forward to working with CASS & Friends in the future. |
