KIYA'S BIOGRAPHY

Hi, my name is Kiya Dee, I’m 14 years old and I love running. I’ve been running since I was 8 successfully in triathlons but later decided to concentrate on my xc running.  At the moment I run with Highworth RC with my Mum, brother and twin sister.  I remember when I started running because my mum had to run with me in the fun runs I did. She used to have to wait for me but now I get to wait for her. I love running with my twin, Taya because we are both very competitive so  even a steady run turns into a race! My sister has really helped me to become a better runner and I wouldn’t be where I am now without her.

I have had a successful season this year being placed in the top national events. My biggest achievement and event I enjoyed the most was the English Schools XC Championships where I won Gold. This qualified me to run for England for the second year in a row at S.I.A.B home internationals, this year in Dublin. I got to fly on a plane , we won team gold and I won individual silver. What a way to finish the xc season.
Looking ahead, I have qualified for the Mini London marathon in April representing Southwest England. This summer I would like to get some coaching on the track and who knows…
I hope I can continue running for England in international events and maybe even go to the European xc championships when I’m old enough.
