KAYLA MACBRYDE'S BIOGRAPHY
My main sport is Cheer but I also enjoy TaeKwonDo, which I started when I was 10 with my twin brother Kyle. Last year I won the British Open TaeKwonDo Championship for lightweight girls yellow belt.
I started my Cheerleading journey in North Devon when I was 5. The smallest in the Tornados team, naturally I was made a Flyer. I am not afraid of heights as I trust the Bases to catch me. I spent a couple of years doing Gymnastics Trampoline and Cheer. But Cheer is the one I love because of the team work and the friends I’ve made along the way. A move to Gloucestershire and my club GCA gave me the training to reach level 4 and a place in the England Adaptive Abilities Advanced Cheer Team for the 2023 season. I was also made an elite member of the UKTC UK Tumbling Collective in Sheffield, where I had several all-day training sessions. I have bonded with my GCA coaches who are amazing and they encouraged me to audition for the England team. |
Competing in the Nationals at Bournemouth for the last six years gave me lots of experience. I travel every weekend to Bristol to train with Phoenix AllStars who train the England AAAdvanced Team.
I was totally wowed by the Opening Ceremony of the World Championships in Florida. Just like the Olympics, parade of Flags and the Pledge. Apart from the performances, we came 4th, in the world, one of the best parts of the World Championships was meeting competitors from other countries. I train hard, 4 or 5 evenings a week, in addition to stretching at home. Cheer is my life, I love it. I am really looking forward to working with CASS & Friends as they can help me in so many ways with their experience of helping others. Thank you. |
