JULIA RATUSZNA'S BIOGRAPHY
Hi, I’m Julia Ratuszna, I am 16 years old and I play tennis. I’ve been playing tennis since I was 7 years old, starting recreationally at a local park with my dad, where I discovered how much I enjoyed the sport. I started competing in tournaments when I was slightly older (12 years old) meaning that I needed to catch up to the level that girls my age were playing at. In the beginning it was difficult but after a few months I could see progress being made when I started winning against players that were higher ranked and players who I had lost to previously. This allowed me to qualify for higher level tournaments!
In the past I have represented Gloucestershire in the U12’s county cup, one of the first tournaments I competed in, which motivated me to train even harder to reach the level of the other girls. |
I have also competed in the U18’s county cup earlier this year, an incredible experience representing Gloucestershire. I regularly compete in tournaments, both singles and doubles and I am currently ranked 3rd in Gloucestershire in the U18 age group.
My goal is to challenge myself as much as I can to see where tennis can take me! Currently I am aiming to play more in more tournaments in order to gain experience so that one day I may have the chance to achieve a US tennis scholarship that would allow me to do what I love most at university. Thank you to CASS & Friends for supporting me along the way! |
