EVA HAYNES'S BIOGRAPHY
Hi, my name is Eva, I’m 12 years old and I am a tennis player. I first started playing tennis when I was only 2 years old. I played my very first tournament when I was 6, which was a great experience and made me fall in love with the sport.
I participate in lots of other sports including hockey, netball, cricket, horse riding, rounders, and athletics. I play hockey for Cheltenham Hockey Club competing regularly at a high standard. Recently I competed for Cheltenham in the regional indoor hockey tournament at the Copper Box national stadium. Tennis however has always been my main passion and over the last couple of years it has taken me all over the country to compete. Currently I am ranked number 1 in Gloucestershire for U12s and represent Gloucestershire in the U14’s and train with the U18 county squads. |
I regularly compete in Tennis Europe and National Championships. Most recently I made the quarters finals of the U12 doubles and the last 16 of the singles National Championship finals Grade 1 in Nottingham
I am also the current East Glos champion for the U12s, U14 and U18 singles. This year I competed at the Gloucester County closed winning the U14 singles, U14 doubles and U18 doubles. Currently I train up to 14 hours per week at East Glos tennis club with my coaches and group sessions and county training at Oxtalls. My goal is to win as many titles as I can in tennis and represent my country. My ultimate dream is to gain a US tennis scholarship which will allow me to train full time and potentially go on to become a professional tennis player. |
