CAS'S BIOGRAPHY
Hi I'm Casarena Ferreira.
I am 17 years old and I started Triathlon in 2013, when I joined Evesham Vale Triathlon Club. I first got involved with triathlon through a local Aquathlon that I saw advertised and entered myself into it. I came 1st and loved the idea of multisport events. I entered the West Midlands Triathlon Series and finished 4th-reserve for the West Midlands team for the IRCs. Wthout much training, I then trailed for the West Midland Regional Academy and got a place at the age of just 14. I have now regained my place on the academy 3 years in a row. The last 3 years have been amazing, gaining experience at a national level, traveling across the country racing in places including Scotland, Leeds and Cardiff, and going on training camps to Morzine and Portugal. |
Last year, I was the youngest of the age group Junior (16-19) and I finished top 10 in the UK at the Bedford Duathlon and 12th in the UK at the Supertri at Eton Dorney Lake (both part of the National Super Series).
My goals are to podium at National level in the next 2 years, in the National Super Series, qualify for Europeans and Worlds the following year and the ultimate goal is to go the Olympics. I wouldn't be able to do any of this, and be at the level I am now without the help of my family, Cass and Friends, Richard Goode and Steve Lloyd who I am currently training with in Nottingham. Training in Nottingham has improved my performance hugely and I am so grateful that I have the funding to be able to do this. I train 17 hours a week with a group of elite athletes and coaches while doing my Alevels. I look forward to the upcoming triathlon season, and keeping everyone up to date on my achievments. Thank you for the support! Cas x |
