BEN NEWCOMBE'S BIOGRAPHY
Hello, my name is Ben Newcombe and I am 16 years old. I swim for Gloucester City Swimming Club and have also swam regularly for the county team. I have been swimming competitively at county level from 9 years old and at regional level from the age of 10. Last year I reached my first National championship, swimming the 50m and 100m breaststroke and butterfly as well as the 100m IM. I am lucky to be able to swim all strokes at a high level, but I prefer the sprint distances over the longer races.

I hope to continue to swim at national level and eventually make international competition. I also want to swim at university. It is my ultimate dream to represent my country one day.
Coming back after the lockdowns has been difficult as I now have to compete in the open age groups, against men much older than myself. It is a big challenge but it just motivates me to try harder. It is also a good feeling when you win against those much older swimmers. Thank you to CASS & friends for all the help and support. Having you behind me, will help me train harder and be more successful. |
