AUSTIN'S BIOGRAPHY
My name is Austin Whitmarsh, I am currently 17 years old and I am an international archer. I started archery when I was 7 years old, I train 6 days a week and compete most weekends. I am currently part of the GB academy which means that I attend 5 residential camps every year at Lilleshall National Sports Centre. Last year I was selected to represent Great Britain at the Europa Cup 2nd leg in Bucharest, Romania where I placed 33rd individually and 7th in the team round.

I also went to the World Youth Championships in Madrid, Spain where I placed 55th individually and 9th in the team round. I am a multiple time county, regional and national champion.
I am a member of Cheltenham Archers. My aim is to win a medal in the Olympics in the future. My coach is based in Manchester, Roy Nash, so training sessions can take part in Manchester or Birmingham and the competitions are held all over Britain. |
