AMARI CAMBRIDGE'S BIOGRAPHY
Hi, I'm Amari and I'm 12 years old. I joined Gloucester Athletics Club when I was 6 yrs old and I have trained in all areas of athletics but now I have started to specialise in what I Love doing the most which is sprinting.
I have been competing since I was 8, mainly in quadkids and sportshall, then from age 11 concentrating on sprints and Long Jump. I run in the schools cross country every year. I'm not a big fan but I'm always up for a challenge. I also enjoy many other sports and like to try out new ones. I currently play rugby and have been with my team for 5 years now, also have recently been asked to join the school Hockey team a sport I have never played before but I really enjoy it. Sprinting will always be my passion though. I like to train really hard and train 3 nights a week at the moment, over the last few years it has paid off and I have made some great achievements. I hold 4 club records at the moment, was the overall winner in sportshall in 2021 then going on to win nationals with the Gloucestershire team. |
I compete in all the Avon leagues where I have made it into the top 10 of all time and all the YDL's, I qualified and was selected to represent Gloucestershire in the South West Inter County Championships which I gained 5th place overall.
To end my summer season I competed in the John Harper Stars of the Future open winning a Gold and Silver medal, then to finish of the year I have just been awarded the U13 Athlete of the year award. I have made many other achievements along with lots of pb's. I am now in my winter training preparing for the next season which I am really looking forward to and training really hard as I have set my self some big goals to achieve. My biggest goal for my future is to run for GB and make it to the Olympics and look forward to working my way towards this. I am excited to be a part of CASS & Friends, greatful for all the support and I can't wait to see what the future brings :-) |
