TROY TURNER'S BIOGRAPHY
Hi, my name is Troy Turner,
I am 13 years old. I am a sprinter and also a rugby player, I started rugby 2 years ago in November 2022 when my school friends noticed I was pretty fast, they asked me if I could play for Ledbury rfc in the u12 age group, I went on to be awarded most improved player at the end of the season, with being one of the highest try scorers in the team, playing on the wing. In the rugby off season, I was left bored with nothing to do and decided to give athletics a try. Within the first month of giving athletics a try, I posted the 6th fastest time in the country for u13 at that time in 100m. I then went on to get 6 club records for Gloucester ac in my first season. 75m,100m, 150m, 200m, u13 relay, u13 mixed relay. Some of these records have stood for before even my father was born. I also was awarded u13 boy of the year at Gloucester ac. Moving on it was rugby season again and I had a very successful season scoring 56 tries and also now playing as centre due to my strength and speed. |
I competed 60m indoors in early 2024 and went on to place 2nd in the south west championship as a year 1 in u15, at just 12 years old.
In outdoor athletics season of 2024 I managed to get 4th place in south west 100m and 6th place in the midlands championship. With new support from my new coach Justin smith at speed project training. I also now hold the 150m indoors and outdoors record for Gloucester ac. My goals for 2025 as a year 2 in u15 will be to break 60m, 100m and 200m club records for Gloucester ac, win southwest and midlands championships and hopefully qualify for the British championships indoor and outdoor. As for rugby I have already made a great start for the 24/25 season scoring 13 tries for my club and 6 tries for my school, 1 month into the season. I am extremely grateful for the help and support from CASS & Friends. I also really look forward to the mindset training Fiona will provide and also being a part of the amazing team of other athletes in our community! |
