PAIGE WHITTAKER'S BIOGRAPHY
Hello there, my name is Paige, I am 14 years old, and I am an ITF Taekwondo (TKD) athlete. ITF stands for International Taekwondo Federation and is different to the style of Taekwondo used at the Olympics but just as prestigious.
I started training when I was 8 years old and started competing in November 21 when I was 11. My first fight was an eye opener and as I gained more experience, I got more excited for the next fight. Now, I eagerly bounce on competition days and live for the rush that competing brings. I am working towards my black belt currently, as I cannot get into the England National team without it, with that being my ultimate goal. I am grading for my full red belt in December 24, leaving me only my black tag and black belt gradings to go. I currently train 6 days a week at an average of 15 hours over those days. I am also a junior instructor at Apex Martial Arts Academy, helping teach the junior classes alongside my coaches. . |
I have competed in two international competitions in 2024, albeit in London and Cardiff, but after winning Silver and Gold respectively, I have been invited to represent England at the ITF World Cup in Argentina in October 2024.
My future goal is to have my black belt and get selected for the England team before the next ITF World Cup in Dublin in 2026. Outside of TKD I am a keen runner and a RAF Cadet. I aim to become a pilot for the RAF and represent them in competitions in the future. I represent not only my Squadron but the Wing (county level) for athletics and cross country. I would like to thank CASS & Friends for the sponsorship and support in helping me realise my dreams, additionally I would like to thank my excellent coaches for everything they have done in training and guiding me. |
