Niamh Callaghan's Biography
|
Hi, my name is Niamh, I’m 15 years old and I’m a Wado-Kai karate athlete.
I have been training in karate since I was 6 years old and have been competing for the past 3 years. I have achieved medals in kata at several competitions. Although I don’t currently compete in kumite (fighting), I do train in it as part of my karate development. I am currently a 1st Kyu (brown belt with a black stripe) and hope to achieve my black belt by the end of this year. |
I train 4 days a week, completing around 6 hours of training, which includes karate and weapons training. I also enjoy giving back to my club by helping to teach the younger children on Monday evenings.
I am currently working towards an exciting competition in Rome, where I will be representing England at the Wado-Kai European Karate Cup. My goals are to continue achieving medals, developing my skills and becoming a positive role model and inspiration to the younger athletes within my squad. |
